Jane Welsh (City of Toronto)

Jane Welsh is the Acting Project Manager for Environmental Planning in the Strategic Initiatives, Policy and Analysis unit of Toronto City Planning. Jane's 25 years of municipal planning experience include development and implementation of new leading edge initiatives such as the Toronto Green Standard, Green Roof Bylaw, Ravine Protection Bylaw and the Residential Apartment Commercial Zone. She is also responsible for policy tools for Natural Heritage protection, biodiversity, climate change, energy and sustainable development and preparation of environmental policies for the Toronto Official Plan.

 

Jane has a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture from the University of Guelph and a Masters of Science in Planning from the University of Toronto. She is a member of the Ontario Association of Landscape Architects Council and currently serves as Secretary.

Prof. Jennifer Drake (U of T)

Prof. Jennifer Drake is Co-Researcher, Hydrology at the Green Roof Innovation Testing Laboratory in the John H. Daniels Faculty of Architecture, Landscape, and Design.

Dr. Quentin Chiotti (Metrolinx)

Dr. Quentin Chiotti is a subject matter expert in climate risk and resiliency, and has worked in this field for 25 years. His areas of climate change expertise include agriculture, energy, public health, watershed management, and public transit. Quentin has been an academic, and has worked for Environment Canada, Pollution Probe, the Ministry of Natural Resources, as a private consultant, and joined Metrolinx in 2015 as Senior Advisor, Sustainability (resiliency and adaptation). At Metrolinx, he oversees their climate resiliency program, and was lead author to their report Planning for Resiliency: Toward a Corporate Climate Adaptation Plan that was published in September 2017. In his career Dr. Chiotti has been a Post Doctoral Fellow at U of T, an adjunct professor, and has taught courses at UTM, UTSC, Institute for Environmental Studies, and Innis College. He recently co-taught a senior undergraduate Climate Risk course at UTSC  in their management program.

Prof. Eric Miller (U of T)

Eric Miller is a Professor in the Transportation Engineering Research Group and Director of the University of Toronto Transportation Research Institute (UTTRI). His research areas include: microsimulation modelling methods; analysis of transportation - land use interactions; development and applications of disaggregate travel choice models; transportation energy/emissions modelling; and analysis of transit demand and operations.
