Building Efficiency and Green Roofs (Panel)
Jane Welsh is the Acting Project Manager for Environmental Planning in the Strategic Initiatives, Policy and Analysis unit of Toronto City Planning. Jane's 25 years of municipal planning experience include development and implementation of new leading edge initiatives such as the Toronto Green Standard, Green Roof Bylaw, Ravine Protection Bylaw and the Residential Apartment Commercial Zone. She is also responsible for policy tools for Natural Heritage protection, biodiversity, climate change, energy and sustainable development and preparation of environmental policies for the Toronto Official Plan.
Jane has a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture from the University of Guelph and a Masters of Science in Planning from the University of Toronto. She is a member of the Ontario Association of Landscape Architects Council and currently serves as Secretary.
Prof. Jennifer Drake is Co-Researcher, Hydrology at the Green Roof Innovation Testing Laboratory in the John H. Daniels Faculty of Architecture, Landscape, and Design.
Transportation Energy and Emissions (Panel)
Ersoy currently leads the Sustainability and Innovation teams at Metrolinx with a mandate to advance environmental, social and financial sustainability initiatives as well as culture of innovation within the organization, and Metrolinx’s new and shared mobility objectives in the Greater Toronto Hamilton Area. Some of the key focus areas for Ersoy and his teams are implementation of a corporate sustainability strategy, energy and emissions management, climate adaptation and resilience, community responsibility, employee engagement, innovation, new technologies, research and pilots.
Ersoy is a professional engineer in Ontario and holds an MBA degree.
